Conditional Admission
ESLI is a program that will give the students the
opportunity to join the universities degree programs. No TOEFL or IELTS required.
Upon completion, academically qualified students will be admitted to the ESLI universities.
Students do not need to take GMAT or GRE exams at the time of application Instead,
ESLI affiliated universities allow students to take the exams at the end of the
Pre-University level of the ESLI program.

English as a Second Language International(ESLi), anofficial institution, endorses McNeese as a supreme location for languageeducation. ESLi is well-known for its strong affiliations with the offered universityprograms; and students who participate in the program will not only be able toimmerse themselves in university cultures, but will also have an opportunity tobe accepted to internationally acclaimed undergraduate/graduate programs with apossibility of receiving a scholarship. Benefit, Goal of this course : Students have a choice of programs called Academic English& University Entrance or English only studies. The former program is more academically focused and intense, but students can achieve their individual pursuits through these different programs
Curriculum : Curriculum includes languagestudies that include Listening, Reading, Speaking/Pronunciation,Composition,Vocabulary, and Grammar studies.InListening classes, students will Use a variety of sources to practice listeningskills that can be applied both inside and outside of the classroom. For Speaking/Pronunciation,students can gain confidence when they speak in a variety of situations.Students will be comfortable with casual conversations, formal dialogue, classpresentations, and so on. With Reading classes, students will have in-classreading exercises and a personalized reading program. Students will not onlyread for pleasure but also for university studies. Exposure to a wide varietyof texts will provide the students with opportunities to find and select theirown materials as well as develop some personal preferences. In Composition, students will start writing some basicparagraphs through guided practices. Then students will learn to research,organize, and compose research papers. In addition to these core skills, studentswill also learn word-processing skills to prepare for university writingassignments. With Vocabularycourse, students will develop a vocabulary base appropriate for everydayconversations and classroom situations. They will also learn methods forlong-term building and retaining functional vocabulary. For grammarclasses, students are encouraged to learn grammar through use, not just viatext. Grammar instruction is provided within the context of listening,speaking, reading, and writing.

ESLi students can choose to live in the on
campus dormitories with North American roommates. MSU offers 3 types of housing
for students on campus: old style honors dorms, or newer suites and apartment
styles. There is a honors student dormitory which requires a GPA of 3.0 or
higher to be placed on waitlist.
There are Suites and Apartment Styles.
Suites are two private rooms with one bathroom (all private rooms)m and
Apartment Styles are four private rooms with one bathroom, and also includes
club house, kitchen, study rooms and so on.
Surrounding Area
MSU is located in Southwest Louisiana (Lake
Charles). The area population is 175,000, and it requires 2 1/2 hour drive by
car to Houston, Texas and Barton Rouge, Louisiana, and 3 1/2 hour drive by car
to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Facilities
ESLI at McNeese State University will give the students opportunities to access 21-acre main campus, 503-acre MSU Farm, a 65-acre athletic plant and student apartment complex, Louisiana Environmental Research Center, Burton Coliseum and nearly 1,600 of donated farm property used for research, farming and ranching.
