Accommodation
One of the most important things you will need to take care of before you start your studies in the United States is finding a place to live. In general, the amount you spend for housing should be limited to one-fourth or one-third of the total amount you have planned to spend on living expenses. If the cost is one-half of your budget or more, you may be spending too much. It is especially important to consider location in selecting your housing. If you live farther than walking distance from the campus, it may prove to be inconvenient unless you are close to public transportation or you have a car. While Valencia College does not offer housing, students can choose from a variety of options, including a homestay, hotel, or apartment. Below is information on each of these options: Homestays Hotels* Apartments

you’ll find British pubs, Brazilian markets, Caribbean bakeries, Hispanic businesses and Asian restaurants (just to name a few) all within a couple of miles of each other.

Activity

Joining a student club or organization is a great way to meet people and make new friends from various cultural backgrounds. There are dozens of student clubs and organizations, including many with an international perspective.
Throughout the year, our campuses come alive with cultural performances, art exhibits, film festivals, concerts, guest speakers, rallies, and dozens of clubs and organizations. Valencia has even been a tour stop for U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama. In addition, International Student Services hosts special events, from immigration and employment workshops to cultural events, where you can meet other international students.(Welcome Back Week, Spirit Week, International Education Week, Brazilian Film Festival, International Open House event, Arts Event, International Student Transfer Fair, College Night)
