- To be honest, I had no plan how and where to go to study English abroad before someone recommended me Study Destiny, and the principal made me go to Laverne Center I am pretty sure no one knows about Laverne but it is a small city near LA. You could get there straight away from the LA airport, but I took the train from LA union station and it took me about 30~40 minutes.First thing that amazed me about Laverne was that, it had no homeless people. Despite the fact, LA
city had quite a number of homeless people, Laverne had none of them. It is a typical small and safe city. ELS center is within the Laverne University. There is only one office, but class rooms are separated. For accommodation problems, I home stayed for the first month, and I used Uni dormitory from following month. It’s not like I hated home staying but it was just too distant from the university.
The teachers are very nice, all of them! Especially Stew, and Matt! Matt told me that he was going to Columbia university for TESOL I don’t know if it worked out for him. Korean ratio is perfect as well. And there is a restaurant within the Uni which is ran by Korean people so I could solve my lunch with
reasonable prices the whole time.I was placed into one of the most advanced class, so the text was pretty hard. But out of all, the lesson where you had to write 7 pages worth of essay was the hardest.Although it is distant from LA, I think that is the major reason why it is an ideal place to study English
for!.
