We can offer your students short term ESL programs for 1 to 6 weeks, and long term programs of up to one year. We are authorized to enroll non-immigrant students (I-20/F1 visa) and we will help you with all arrangements for your students including housing reservations. Those coming to the United States as tourists may join our Semi-Intensive program of English of 15 hours per week. If you have groups we will be happy to work out a package for you including English classes, accommodation, meals, and activities.

All classes are conducted in English and are closely monitored by our academic team.
Teaching Method: We use an eclectic teaching approach, and draw from the latest techniques in ESL (English as a Second Language) instruction. Our curriculum stresses real-life situations, and all of our programs include speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students begin speaking English from the very first day of class!
Curriculum :
The Intensive Language Program offers year-round every Monday with 20 lessons per week.This program, divided into levels 1-10, offers students from the false beginner to those almost fluent an Intensive program that integrates the four skills: speaking, reading, listening and writing. There is also an Academic Track of ESL programs geared toward students who plan to attend university. All of our English programs are taught by dynamic, experienced faculty who are trained to help students progress. Class size averages 14 students, and students are encouraged to practice their newly acquired skills both in and outside of class. The classes meet Mondays-Fridays in the morning. NYLC defines a clock hour of instruction as 50 minutes for each full hour of official class time. Students are given both an oral and written placement test and are assigned their level. Many of the textbooks used in this program can be found in university IEP programs. Students at New York Language Center have access to wired and wireless internet. Specialized Academic Track courses are offered as part of the Intensive English Program as well as the Semi-Intensive Program. A certificate of completion of the English as a Second Language Program is given after Level X. Special certificates are issued upon request for students who take fewer hours.

New York Language Center-Upper West Side is located in the center of the Upper West Side, a very lively and friendly neighborhood close to Columbia University. This area is filled with many shops and restaurants housed in handsome pre-war buildings. Riverside Park and Central Park are both only a short walk away.
Facilities
Each branch has free internet access for students on our computers as well as wireless access. All classrooms are equipped with audiovisual equipment. NYLC-Midtown offers computer access for Test Preparation practice.
Activity
All New York Language Center students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of cultural and social activities, all led by members of the faculty. The school also offers workshops and tutorial help at no additional cost. New York City is the capital of the world and the activity programs reflect this. The school has a full time Student Life Manager who will help make students' time in NY unforgettable. Our Activities Program includes school events, cultural and recreational activities as well as optional weekend excursions outside of New York to places such as Washington D.C., Niagara Falls and Philadelphia. The Manager of Student Life can help all the students book excursions to destinations outside of New York.
