ELS/Santa Rosa is located in the heart of the beautiful and safe Santa Rosa Junior College campus. Safe and beautiful downtown Santa Rosa is within walking distance of the campus. With the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east and several lakes and rivers nearby, sailing, hiking, water skiing, snowboarding, surfing, rafting, kayaking, camping, and cycling are all easily accessible. With approximately 300 sunny days a year, the possibilities for outdoor activities are endless! For day trips, San Francisco is easy to get to by public transportation. On the weekends, students can travel to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Monterey, and more. SRJC students have the highest University of California acceptance percentage of all large California Community colleges.

*말하기, 읽기, 쓰기 및 듣기에 대한 16 시간의 생생한 실시간 강의와 American Experience (미국에 직접 관광 비자로 방문 하여 들을 수 있는 프로그램)교실 내 강의와 완전히 일치 *강사와 매주 일대일 회의 *미국인과의 실시간 접촉 *2 개의 온라인 자율 학습 프로그램을 사용한 일일 연습 세션 (가이드 e 러닝, 내셔널 지오그래픽 학습) *각 세션 마다 센터 디렉터 또는 아카데믹 디렉터와의 학업 상담 세션 *독립적 인 온라인 활동 및 과제는 언제든지 수행 할 수 있습니다.
미국 동부 표준시 (EST) 오전 7 시부터 오전 9시 50 분까지 입니다. 한국 시간으로 같은 날 밤 21시-23:50 분에 진행(미국 서머타임은 2021년 3월14일부터 11월7일로 1시간 일찍 20시부터 시작합니다.) 소그룹 수업시간은 상황에 따라 달라질 수 있지만 일반적으로 Structure and Speaking 수업 또는 Reading and Writing(RW) 수업이 끝난 후 곧이어 시작합니다.

*Structure and Speaking 문장구조와 말하기 수업은 SSP로 표기합니다. Reading and Writing 읽기와 쓰기 수업은 RW로 표기합니다. American Experience 미국문화를 배우는 금요일 2시간 액티비티는 AE로 표기합니다. RW교사와의 미팅, SSP 교사와의 미팅이란 이름으로 일주일에 각각 한시간씩 총 2시간의 소그룹 수업이 있습니다. 이 수업은 통상 수업이 끝난 후 이어서 시작하며, 학생들과 시간을 정해서 하기도 합니다. Intensive Online Plus (ION +) 프로그램에는 매주 16 시간의 원격 교육과 함께 Guided E-Learning (GEL), MyELT 및 My English Lab 학습 플랫폼에서의 개별 작업이 포함됩니다. 추가 연습이나 상담을 위해 선생님과 함께 Virtual Office Hours에 등록 할 수도 있습니다.

Q : 핸드폰으로도 수업을 들을 수 있나요? 아니면 반드시 노트북이나 컴퓨터를 이용해야 하나요?
ELS의 모든 수업 자료 및 문제풀이 모듈, 교사와의 만남은 핸드폰으로도 시청하거나 참여할 수 있습니다. 그러나 온라인 강의를 듣고 과제를 수행하는 데 많은 시간을 들여야 하기 때문에 핸드폰 보다는 컴퓨터나 태블릿을 사용하는 것을 추천합니다.
Q : 레벨테스트는 어떻게 하나요? 몇개월정도 공부해야 하나요?
이메일로 학생에게 레벨테스트 방법이 안내됩니다. 111레벨에서 112 레벨 중 학생에게 알맞은 레벨로 결정이 되면, 자신의 필요에 따라 112레벨까지 공부할 수 있습니다. ELS의 레벨을 인정하는 약650여개의 미국, 캐나다 대학에서 통상 학사학위는 112레벨을 준학사학위는 109레벨 수료증을 토플이나 아이엘츠 점수 대용으로 인정해줍니다. 자신의 레벨이 결정되었다면, 한 레벨당 한달로 예상하되, 상급 레벨에서는 Fail하여 같은 레벨을 다시 듣는 경우도 생각하여, 학사 지원이나 석사 지원 학기를 결정할 수 있습니다.
Q : 온라인 수업도 학점이나 점수가 나오나요? 레벨은 어떻게 올라가나요?
기존 ELS 교실 수업에서 학생들의 점수를 주는 것과 같이 온라인 수업에서도 성적이 나옵니다. 학생들의 수업 출석, 참여도, 온라인 듣기, 문법 및 읽기 활동, 말하기 및 글쓰기를 교사가 평가하여 성적을 드립니다. 전체 평균 79 % 이상으로 자신의 레벨을 마치면 상위 다음 레벨로 올라갑니다.
Q : 듣기 연습은 어떻게 하나요?
수업 타이틀에 Listening수업은 없지만, 듣기 수업은 말하기 수업과 함께 하며, 연습할 수 있어야 하고 또 교사로 부터 지적이나 수정을 받으면서 말하는 모든 과정에 해당합니다. Structure and Speaking 수업에서 특히 중점을 두고 있는 부분인 듣기 입니다. 듣기와 말하기는 교사와의 상호 작용을 통해 이루어지며 온라인 소규모 수업에서 다른 학생들과의 대화, 토론 통해 이루어집니다. 듣기 연습은 라이브 수업 이후에도 ELS플랫폼을 이용한 온라인 액티비티에서도 강조됩니다.
Q : 최대 수업 인원은 얼마입니까?
온라인 수업도 수업의 효율을 높이기 위해 학생수를 제한합니다. 한 수업에 8- 15 명까지로 하며 소그룹 수업 진행은 최대 8명 까지 로 합니다.

Description: ELS/Santa Rosa offers caring and warm environments with homestay families near the center!
Almost all homestay families are less than 35 minutes by public transportation, and in some cases they are within walking or bicycling range. The excellent and safe Santa Rosa bus system offers monthly unlimited passes for only $50. Home types vary, but in general, ELS host families live in safe and affluent neighborhoods near the Center. ELS students will be assigned single rooms, some with shared bathrooms. All homes have wireless internet. ELS students will have access to kitchen and laundry areas in the home.

Description: The Elliott Apartments offer comfortable fully furnished double rooms directly across from Santa Rosa Junior College, and only one block from the campus library and sports stadium. The complex offers a pool, and laundry facility. Rooms are located within 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, and offer fully equipped kitchens and living/study areas.

Description: Davis Ranch is 20 minutes on foot from the center and only five minutes by bicycle. Students who reside at Davis Ranch are closer to Santa Rosa's downtown area, which has a variety of restaurants and shopping options.
•Double rooms include: bed, bedding, desks, work chairs, and night stands/dressers.
•Amenities include: communal area with large screen TV, laundry facilities on site, patio, and yard.
•Included in price: linens, weekly cleaning of common areas, and room cleaning once per session.
Surroundings
Many great and not expensive eating places are across the street from the campus, and students can even walk into downtown Santa Rosa, where they can find many other restaurants, places to shop, and even places to hear live music. An excellent city public bus system offers monthly passes for only $50. Classrooms and administrative offices are located next to one another and all within walking distance of the campus library, sports stadium and cafeteria.
Outside of the ELS/Santa Rosa center, students will enjoy the truly beautiful campus of Santa Rosa Junior College. When the college is in session, the campus is very lively with more than 20,000 full and part time students, there are many opportunities for ELS students to meet and make American friends. Within a short walking distance on campus, students can study in the beautiful multi floor library, attend sports events at the sports stadium, eat in the comfortable cafeteria, or just sit and study under the beautiful trees.
