Surrounding Area
Southern California is home to ELS/San Diego, located near downtown San Diego’s entertainment and shopping district. You can enjoy day trips to the beach, the world famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World®, or spend a weekend exploring Universal Studios Hollywood® or Disneyland®. San Diego’s very mild climate is considered by many to be the best in the United States. That makes the area ideal for the many festivals held throughout the year. There are also many restaurants, museums, art galleries, theatres, parks and professional sports. The San Diego area has moderate weather all year long with warm sunny days and cool nights. Students should bring sweaters or jackets for the evenings. It rains during the "rainy season" - December through April, and almost never rains from May through November.
