Marquette University is a private, coeducational, Jesuit, Roman catholic university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Established as Marquette College in 1881, it was founded by the first Catholic bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Initially an all-male institution, Marquette became the first coed Catholic university in the world in 1909, when it began admitting its first female students. Description: ELS/Milwaukee has a variety of families and homes for their location.
The average commute time is currently 35-45 minutes by car, and in some cases, host families are willing to provide transportation, although not required. The Center's homestays are conveniently located close to bus stop;s, so students have the freedom to travel at their own pace. Almost all new homestay families are less than 30-40 minutes by public transportation.Home types vary, but in general, ELS host families live in safe and pleasant neighborhoods near the Center. ELS students will be assigned single rooms, some with shared bathrooms. All homes have heating and air conditioning, along with wireless internet. ELS students will have access to kitchen and laundry areas in the home.
