Golden Gate UniversityAbout the
Golden Gate University is aprivate, nonsectarian, coeducational university located in the South of Market district, immediately south of the Financial District of downtown San Francisco, California. Founded in 1901, GGU specializes in educating professionals through its schools of law, business, taxation, and accounting. The University offers two undergraduate degrees with eight concentrations and 15 graduate degrees with 24 concentrations. The University has no residential students, being entirely a "commuter school" located in the heart of the business district of San Francisco with a major student demographic being returning students and working professionals. Both Herbert and Spauilding buildings have a student lounge with microwave, and laundry facilities. Spaulding building has a full kitchen where students from Herbert and Spaulding may cook bkfst, lunch, dinner. Both hotel buildings are operated by the same management and have the same furnishings. Students are placed by bed availability in either building and will be informed by Central Admissions which building they will live in before arrival.

ELS/San Francisco - Downtown is located on the city campus of Golden Gate University(GGU). The “City by the Bay” is a center of culture with a distinct international flavor. Youcan visit Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Other activities include sporting events or day trips to Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Monterey Bay or the famous Napa and Sonoma Valley wine country. Weekendtrips to Yosemite, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon are also popular.Northern California has a very temperate climate. Even in the summer, students may need a sweater or light jacket. The Bay Area's ideal weather makes numerous outdoor activities possible all year long.
