Accommodation
As Embassy understands that accommodation takes up a crucial part among students. Thus, the school gives an option between homestay and student residence. Embassy's unique homestay program will enable students to experience the local culture, people and customs with a carefully selected host family. Students can choose between single and shared rooms while breakfast and dinner may or may not be provided depending on students' preferences. Students must be at least 18 years old in order to stay with a host family. Another option is staying at a student residence that boasts fantastic city centre locations. Student residences are located very near Embassy learning centers as well as other conveniences. Students can choose between shared and single rooms. Private bathroom is also available with self-catered/prepared meals.
Surrounding Area
Faneuil Hall Square, a place important in Boston (and American) history, is adored by the students. Boston also has all restaurants, shops and entertainment students would want from a modern city. The school is also close to public transport (State St. T Station), which makes travelling very easy. English courses include General English, Exam Preparation, and Academic Year Programms. Boston is considered to be a highly cultured city as it is renowned for having exceptional performing arts groups as the Boston Ballet, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, and the Boston Lyric Opera Company. The city is also well-known for dedicated fans dedicated to their world-famous teams, including the Boston Celtics (NBA basketball), the New England Patriots (NFL football), the Boston Bruins (NHL hockey), the New England Revolution (soccer) and the historic, much beloved 2004 World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox. Embassy CES is ubiquitous throughout the
United States, so I was expecting a high quality education. The reason I wanted
to go to Boston is because I don’t like huge and busy cities like New York. Additionally,
I wanted to go to a university in Boston too. I took a program called ‘Language
Year Abroad – Intensive’. It is 8 months program with 3 levels. It takes about
2 or 3 months to finish a level. The best thing about Embassy CES is that
individual care is excellent; teachers consider the learning speed of the
student and give advice on studying tips and so on. When you get assigned to a
class, first thing to do is to make an education plan for the course. It is
like a personal record of objectives and accomplishments. Through this plan,
teachers give you the education you need to accomplish the plans. Thanks to
this program my English improved dramatically. Boston is also a big city with
prestigious universities like Harvard. Therefore, there are so many things to
see and many places to visit. In weekends, I went to museums, art exhibitions
etc. I believe I studied language and culture at the same time haha! The
institution also holds many socials and parties, so you can get along with
international friends. Also, for accommodation, there are home-stay and flat
sharing, and I shared a room with international friends from Europe. I strongly
recommend this institution, you can have fun and learn language at the same
time.
Embassy 는 미국 전지역에 센터를 둔 랭귀지스쿨인만큼 기대하고 갔습니다. 보스턴으로 간 이유는 개인적으로 뉴욕같은 번잡한 도시보다는 조용하고 편안한 분위기가 더 좋기도하고, 보스턴에 있는 대학교에 가는것이 목표이기 때문에 일부러 보스턴지역으로 간 것도 있습니다. 제가 들은 프로그램은 Language Year Abroad-Intensive인데 8개월 과정이에요. 3레벨로 구성되어있고, 거의 2~3개월에 한레벨을 거치게되요. 좋은점은 정말 학생한명한명을 체계적이고 계획적으로 가르쳐준다는 점이에요. 클래스 인원은 10명정도 (제경우는 7명) 로 소규모 클래스로 이루어지고, 학생한명한명의 성향에 맞게 학습방법을 지도해주세요. 반에 배정되면 개인 학습계획서를 제출해야하는데 가끔씩 내는 자기진단표?와 같은 형식이에요. 그걸 통해서 선생님들도 학생 개개인의 학습능률이나 학습양을 평가하게되고, 레벨이 끝날때마다 레벨테스트를보게되요. 이런식으로 구체적이고 체계적인 수업덕분에 영어는 정말 단기간에 팍팍 늘었어요. 보스턴은 하버드대학을 중심으로 명문대학들이 모여있는 도시이기도하고 박물관도 많고 여기저기 구경할곳이 생각보다 정말많아요. 그래서 저는 주말마다 항상 박물관에 가기도하고 미술관에가기도하고 어학뿐만아니라 교양도 쌓았네요. ㅋㅋ. 학교에서는 액티브한 여가활동도 많이 제공해줘요. 외국인 학생들이 스포츠를 즐길수 있는 기회도 많이 제공해주고, 파티나 교류회도 자주열리구요. 아 저는 홈스테이는 하지않고 방을 쉐어했어요. 외국인 친구들하고 지냈는데, 유럽에서온 친구들하고 지내면서 다양한 경험을 많이 했어요. 정말 재밌게, 열심히 연수를 마치고왔네요.
Embassyはアメリカの全地域にセンターがあるくらい有名なランゲージスクールであるので楽しみにしていきました。自分がボストンへ行った理由は個人的にニューヨークのような賑やかなところよりは静かで楽な雰囲気がもっと好きですし、ボストンにある大学へ進学することが自分の夢だったのでわざとボストンに行ったはずです。自分が受けたプログラムはLanguage Year Abroad-Intensiveです。8ヶ月課程なんです。3段階のレベルで、だいたい2-3ヶ月に1レベルです。長所は本当に学生ひとりひとりについて繊細で計画的に指導してくれる点です。クラスは全部で10名くらい（自分のクラスは7名だった）で小規模のクラスで行われますし、学生ひとりひとりの性向に向けて学習方法を教えてくれます。クラスに入ったら個人学習計画書を出さなければなりませんが、自分の事故診断表のようなのだす。それを通して先生が学生の学習能率や学習量を評価しますし、各レベルが終わる時にはレベルテストを行います。このように具体的な授業のおかげで英語は本当に短期間にぺらぺらになりました。ボストンはハーバード大学を中心としてアメリカの有名な大学があつまってあるところでもあるし、博物館もいっぱいありますのであっちこっち見学するところがおおかったです。それで私は週末はいつも博物館や美術館へいって、語学だけでなく教養も習いましたね。学校ではアクティビティーな余暇活動も提供してくれます。外国人学生がスポーツを楽しめる機会も提供してくれますし、パーティーや交流会も多いです。あっ、わたしはホームステーはしなく、部屋をシェアーしました。外国人ともだちといっしょに暮らしましたが、ヨーロッパで来た学生たちと住んで、さまざまな経験ができました。本当に楽しかった語学留学でしたね。
