General English classes are available from Beginner to Advanced levels and comprised of 23 hours of English language tuition per week (equivalent to 29 lessons) delivered in six week modules throughout the year.  The Academy’s comprehensive syllabus ensures that speaking, listening, reading and writing skills are covered every day with grammar, vocabulary and syntax studied in context

 

Available as two 1.5 hour sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, the Special Focus Studies classes allow students to focus their studies on a particular skill or area of need or interest from the choices available in any given 6 week module. Special Focus choices may include:•  Business English Communication •  Academic Skills/ieLts Preparation •  Oral Communication •  Pronunciation Enrichment •  Grammar Enrichment  •  Writing Skills •  First Aid Certificate

These courses are designed for students who do not meet the English entry requirements for university at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Benefit, Goad of this course :
Students admitted to Murdoch University, Edith Cowan University, Curtin University & a number of other universities are not required to undertake an IELTS exam after having completed the Phoenix Academic English Course. Successful completion of this course will enhance access to and participation in study at post‐Year 12 level by the development of academic literacy and by the development of
proficiency in English. Successful completion of all modules of this course is regarded by Australian universities as fulfilling the requirements for tertiary entrance.
