Focus of Study GEOS offers a Super-Intensive English Course for those students who wants a drastic improvement of their English skills. During the morning and the afternoon, the students will join the Intensive English Course. They will join an elective course--such as TOEFL preparation program, writing, pronunciation or others--after the morning and afternoon courses.
Curriculum A GEOS English class is known for its challenging curriculum that highlights oral communication - speaking and listening. Extensively trained instructors incorporate varieyt of lessons to help students gain conversational skills as much as possible. At the beginning of each course, students will be given a placement test that closely examines their English proficiency and thus places them in the appropriate level of class ranging from beginner to advanced, in six different difficulties. Also at the end of each term which lasts for twelve weeks, students will take a written exam and have teachers consult the result with them in order to receive personal feedbacks and advices. The exam will become the main tool to observe each student's progress. Progress reports will be handed out in a monthly term and a certificate will be issued at the end of the course by GEOS.

Homestay Our Homestay Program is an excellent accommodation option for students looking to experience Calgary while taking English courses. Staying with a host family gives students the opportunity to have a richer cultural experience and practice new English skills on a daily basis and in real-life situations. During the registration process, students can provide preferences for their accommodation, which we will do our best to adhere to. GEOS Calgary is conveniently located downtown within walking distance of bus and light rail stations. This makes it easy for students to travel to and from their accommodations. A GEOS staff member visits each of our host families with students’ interests in mind. All families have also had a police background check. Our aim is to provide our students with a secure, educational and vibrant environment. Our host families live in safe, comfortable neighborhoods in Calgary and in surrounding suburbs. Our newly renovated school is located in the Elveden Building, one of the tallest buildings in Calgary. It is central downtown on 7th Avenue and close to the C-Train. The school in Calgary is only minutes away from a variety of services and entertainment such as the Globe Cinema, Oh! Canada Restaurant, the University of Calgary, and many more. It is also less than 10 minutes away from 4th Street Southwest, one of Calgary’s main shopping areas. Calgary is at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and Canada’s sunniest city. We have on average over 300 days of beautiful blue skies per year. Calgary is what students believe and expect Canada to be; beautiful scenery and friendly people….the Canada of your dreams!! Activity
EOS Calgary organizes after-school activities everyday (and occasionally organizes weekend activities) for our international students in Calgary. These activities vary by season. Some examples of these activities include trips to the Calgary Tower, coffee talk, sports games, potluck parties, and more!
