For example, ILSC helps students to improve their language skills within the context of their needs and interests, become self-directed lifelong learners, and enjoy the process of learning with confidence and ease. ILSC also provides a warm and enjoyable learning and work environment. There are three principles in ILSC. The first Principle is that learning works very well when it is student-centred. The second one is that learning works better when it is made a part of the experiences of daily life. The last one is that people learn best when they are confident, at ease and happy. To ensure that the above three principles will best assist your learning process, your ILSC teacher functions as a modeler of language, resource person, facilitator, mentor and friend. All teachers at ILSC must possess the following qualifications; a completed Bachelors degree and a completed TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada (or equivalent).ILSC offers a wide range of courses. You can take any combination you wish, depending on your interests, goals, language level and schedule. Most courses are offered at many different levels and last four weeks.ILSC has policies and procedures in place to help ensure our students have the best possible experience while at ILSC. First of all, we have an English/French Only Policy in the school. This means that whenever you are in the school you must speak English or French (whichever language you are studying.) If ILSC students are not speaking English/French (their language of study) in the school some rules apply, such as suspension or sending letters to agent and parents.
