General Arts and ScienceEnglish for Academic Purposes (GAS-EAP)
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Mohawk is a series of 8 levels of 7 week courses designed to develop students’ language skills from pre-beginner to college level English. Each course includes 18 hours of in-class instruction with five hours of individually assigned work in the computer lab. The continuous intake program accommodates students arriving at different times throughout the year, and is also for those who wish only a short-term academic language experience. At the higher levels of EAP, students have the opportunity to earn two post-secondary credits toward their diploma program with an option for additional credits if it permits.
This program is intended for learners whose first language is not English and who want to pursue college level programs requiring English language proficiency.
For International students, there are 6 intakes a year: September 7, 2016 October 31, 2016 January 10, 2017

Mohawk College Residence is awarded to International students by lottery because of the demand, so apply before May 15th for September accommodation. Visit the residence web site (opens in a new tab) to make arrangements and to print off a residence application form. There are a number of rooms set aside for international students - apply early.
