The Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium in Lengenfeld unterm Stein is a general Gymnasium where the Abitur can be obtained after 12 years. In addition to regular lessons, the school offers a wide range of leisure activities in the form of working groups and competitions. The school is attended by around 500 students and has been awarded a "UNESCO project school" and a "career-friendly school".
The school works with the Dalton plan in grades 5 to 10. The Daltonplan pedagogy assumes that the students learn self-thinking, share responsibility for their own
learning process and can and must deal with freedom in the learning process. This helps them develop their own qualities. In the Dalton lessons, the students enjoy
the freedom to decide on the sequence of activities, the workplace, the time required for the individual tasks, the pace of work and the learning partners (classmates, teachers).

Most of the international students, who visit this school are students of the soccer boarding school Soccer city. And live in the boarding school of the soccer school. The students walk from soccer city to the school and back. Because it's only a 10 minutes walking distance. Surrounding Area
Lengenfeld unterm Stein (or Lengenfeld/Stein) is a village and a former municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 December 2011, it is part of the municipality Südeichsfeld.
Facilities
Our school consists of three buildings and a gym. The main building is the old building, which houses rooms for science lessons, but also rooms for languages and normal lessons.
There is also a computer room where students can get information from the Internet for lessons.
A few years ago a new building was built, which was mainly built for grades 5 to 7.
The second and larger computer room and the music room are in a low-rise building.
Activity
In addition to learning, everyday school life also includes other activities. For example, there are two sports weeks a year for students in grade 12, one in each semester. It is possible to drive to the ski camp or the rowing camp. Courses such as health and fitness, volleyball and soccer and others are waiting.
