Accommodation
Growing with joy and fun in the community
The boarding school of the Domspatzen is a real home for the approximately 200 young people who are currently learning and living there. The daily boarding school life is characterized by a strong sense of community. In this trusting and familiar cooperation, each individual can develop his individual personality and develop and further develop his character.
Living
The children and young people in grades 5 – 8 live in triple or quadruple rooms. Students in grades 9 and 10 have double rooms. High school students (Q11 and Q12) live in single rooms. Kitchenettes, PC and TV rooms are of course available. There is also access to Wi-Fi for every student.
Cafeteria
Homemade beef roulades, baked Gouda hearts, crêpes filled with cream cheese and Mediterranean vegetables, roast onions, baked duck in orange sauce, breadcrumbs or Thai curry. What sounds like a menu from an upscale restaurant are excerpts from the menu at the Regensburger Domspatzen.
The kitchen team surprises every day with small and fine details, such as home-baked bread, fried potato skins or handmade dips. Regional and tasty cuisine, ideally also healthy, that is the claim of the kitchen team.
Pupils and employees should feel comfortable and enjoy themselves when they sit in the dining room. The popular spaghetti Bolognese, tortillas or pizza should not be missing from the menu.
Surrounding area
In the heart of Europe, in the middle of the World Heritage city of Regensburg, we sing, learn and live.It is one of Germany's oldest towns, founded by the Romans in 179 AD. It's in the German federal state of Bavaria, at the northernmost point of the river Danube. As capital of the district of Upper Palatinate and also its biggest settlement, Regensburg today is a thriving city of about 137,000 inhabitants. It has two universities and many landmarks and little chapels, most dating back to the Middle Ages (e.g. the Cathedral of St. Peter, the Old City Hall and Imperial Diet, and the Stone Bridge). According to legend there are so many chapels here, that there would always be at least one church bell ringing. Since 2006 the historic city center of Regensburg and Stadtamhof has been a UNESCO World Heritage site. Because of its narrow alleys Regensburg is often called the northernmost city of Italy.
