The Gymnasium program consist of 3 year. Each year separated in 2 half years. Year 10 is the "Einfuehrungsphase" (introductory phase). Year 11 and 12 is the so called Qualifizierungsphase (qualification phase). In class 10, the students need to take every basic course according the German school system. They are free to take any extra courses, for example geography,economics or a third foreign language like spanish. At the end of class 10, they need to choose if they want to go the the language or science way. Students who want to go the science way can choose between biology or maths and students who want to go the language way are able to choose between English and german. The students also need to choose two advanced course from maths,biology,english,economics,art and german. So that the students can make a good decision, the students are offered trial classes before the choosing date. The school values individual request of students, so that for example sports can be choosen as Abiturexam course.
Lietz-Internat Bieberstein was established in 1904 and is a Gymnasium. Its located 15km east from Fulda. It starts from class 10 and goes till class 13. After completing class 13 and passing the Abitur exam, you will get the "Abitur-Zeugnis" which allows you to apply for universities in Germany. Only Bieberstein offers in Germany the E-International Phase, which gives highschool students the opportunity to go abroad for 1 year. After coming back from the study abroad, you can complete your Abitur courses.

Accommodation
The students live in Schloss Bieberstein. The students will get their own group called "Heimfamilie". Which whom they will eat together during meal time at the same table. Students from class 10-12 will be in a double room and the Abitur class 13 has the right to get a single room. The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable . All rooms have access to the Internet and intranet, it is allowed to use personal communication gadgets, to call and write to relatives at any convenient time.
