The school was launched in the spring of 1993 on the green shores of a German lakecalled Torgelower See. They wanted to found a boarding school where gifted and talentedchildren with curiosity and a willingness to work hard would find a second homeduring the important formative period of their lives. Today Schloss Torgelow is one of Germany’s top boarding schools. The students come from all over Germany and abroad to receive an education in Torgelow am See which will prepare them for the rest of their lives. The students live and learn in a close-knit community, acquire knowledge, discover abilities, develop a sense of responsibility, make friends and grow up together. They provide a team of educators who support the students as they prepare for the Abitur (school leaving qualification for university entrance in Germany) and are proud of their achievements.
Focus of Study : It's a middle/high school, with the subjects German, Mathematics, Biology, chemistry, Physics, Second foreign language, history, Social studies, Religion, Geography, Ethics, Art, Music and physical education. The students can get the Cambridge ESOL, Certificate FCE, CAE, and the CPE at Schloss Torgelow. Getting the French certificate DELF and Spanish certificate DELE is also possible.
The students will concentrate more on Abitur subjects from grade 8 to 10. Ingrade 11-12 they will make the last preparations and take the Abitur exam.
Benefit, Goal of this course : The goal of the classes are high performance, deep knowledge, and the acquisition of important sills. Students can prepare for a successful future and develop interest in lifelong learning.
Curriculum: They provides "Mind actory" for grade 5-7 grades with talents in linguistic and mathematical talents.
In the 9th grade all 9th grader participate in the "European Classroom" project, through spending a semester in England. They will be boarding students at Kingham Hill School near Oxford. Through this students can improve their English skills and learn about the life in English. Students learn the 9th grade curriculum in condensed for at Torgelow for the rest of the semester. These courses allow students to gain experience in other countries for a year. Interested middle and high school students can participate in junior courses or Young Business School at the University of Heidelberg.
"Torgelow Science Academy" invites scientists who know how young students can be interested in science. We pay special attention to the students future job preparation. High school programs include internships and job information events, and you can see what students do when they go to college or start working. 8th to 10th graders should take 6 major subjects such as German, Maths, Foreign Language, History, Politics, and Science.

Accommodation
In Schloss Torgelow young students, girls and boys live seperatly. The senior students stay at "Scholls" and "Gelves Haus". The middle schoolers stay in varies buildings of the school. Young boys and girls stay at the "Haus der Zukunft", which is designed for young students. There are variety of games and opportunity for fun. Two students share a room and can decorate their room according their wish. The boarding houses are managed by two supervisors. They work day and night for the students, helping them and teaching them the right things. They also take care of the students intensively and consult with them. The Mentors take care of the students together with qualified nurses and calls doctor for help in case of health problems.
Surrounding Area
Torgelow am See is a municipality in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is part of the Seenlandschaft Waren Amt, that is based in the nearby town of Waren.
Facilities
The new classes are equipped with smart boards and also have projectors and computers. The school maintains the best teaching and learning skills, including internet services and modern equipment for special subjects , science, music and art room.
Activity
To teach Teamwork to the students, there is a team project starting grade 9. The students meet and study togeher. Sailing, Judo, Soccer, Golf, horse riding, archery, running and can try internet designing at the design company "Castle Design" ("(www.castledesign.de). There are a lot of biology and music programms in the village.They can also learn how to make a movie and music for musical or theater.
