The Hermann Lietz Schule Spiekeroog was established in 1928 on the drawing like island Spiekeroog. This island emerged around 100 years ago. Today Spiekeroog has 750 inhabitant.We have the goal to give a good education, so that they are ready for a responsible life in the future.

Welcome to the Lietz family:Living and learning at the Hermann Lietz School in Spiekeroog is a real community experience. Nobody stays here alone, everyone gets involved and can be who he is.

Every room has the most important furnitures, but the students are allowed to bring their own furnitures or take over the once from graduates.The students live in double rooms til grade 10. After that they can move to a single room. The students from grade 5-7 live in one building, which is called "Haus Albatros". The students clean their room every day between breakfast and class time. On Wednesdays and Saturdays in the 6th class hours, the students clean the room thoroughly. The students must get permission, if they want to invite someone. Every student must have a bycycle, which is inspected regulary, to make sure that nothing is wrong with the bycycle.

Almost one hundred students live in the boarding school of the Hermann Lietz School. So that they don't get lost in the big group, five to seven of them form a family group with a teacher, their partner and their own children. The families should be as good a mix as possible - of younger and older students, boys and girls. This structure gives the boarding school students a feeling of security, a feeling of togetherness and orientation. The teacher-parents or family group parents have an open ear for worries and can thus deal with problems and conflicts at an early stage. And a family report is sent to parents twice a year .

In the free time the students can go to the sea or take part in variety of activies like: playing instruments,singing,making of modell cars,art classes,climbing,table tennis,soccer,beach volleyball,badminton,fitness,team sports,Judo,horse riding,swimming,sailing,surfing etc.
