Gymnasium PegnitzAbout the
The Gymnasium Pegnitz was established in 1958. In 1968 the boarding house was built. It was also rebuilt in 2003.
The school has 3 types of Gymnasium:
foreign language Gymnasium,science&technology Gymnasium,economy&law Gymnasium.
English is the first foreign language, the students can choose between French & Latin as their 2nd foreign language. Starting class 10, it is possible to take Italian as 3rd foreign language.
Currently around 700 students visit the school and around 70 teachers work at the school. Around 30-37 students live in the boarding house(but only boys). The distance between the school building and boarding house is 5 min by walk.

Accommodation
The students can live in the boarding house. The boarding house has space for around 37 students. They are separated by age and class. There are 3 rooms bedrooms to single rooms. Every student will get own table,chair and cupboard.
What students need to bring to the boarding house:
-house shoes,street shoes,sport shoes and pool shoes
-sport clothing
-fresh clothing for at least 1 week
-toiletries
-bed cover
-necessary notebooks and stationary for the school
-school bag
banned things:
-drug and other dangerous materials
-TV,displays or own Wifi
-pets
-weapons
Surrounding area
Pegnitz "the city in the greens", has around 14000 inhabitants. It is located near the Autobahn A9 Nuernberg-Berlin and the Station line Nuernberg-Bayreuth,Hof,Marktredwitz. The city is surrounded by nature and is the home of rare animals and plants
Its also called "school city", because they have a lot of school types: Elementary school, Middleschool,Highschool,vocational school,hotel management school and Gymnasium.

Location
Getting to the school from the airport
From the Muenchen Airport take the Sbahn towards Herrsching and get off at Muenchen Hauptbahnhof. And transfer to the ICE train towards Dortmund Hauptbahnhof and get off at Nuernberg Hauptbahnhof. From there take the RE train towards Bamberg and get off at Pegnitz. The walking distance from there to school is 23 minutes.
