Promotion of top talent in Westphalia: the FLVW boarding school for girls A milestone in promoting female talent in Germany is the establishment of a girls' football boarding school by the FLVW in the SportCentrum Kaiserau. Here, prospective and current national players live, learn and train in small residential groups. The intensive support and cooperation with local schools as well as individual training at the highest level according to the age group mean optimal training for the players. The goal is clear: to enable the most talented young players to make their way to the top of football. This requires tight time planning and the right balance between school, training and games. The FLVW supports every player who lives in the boarding school individually. The FLVW boarding school for girls as an elite football school from the German Football Association (DFB) benefits from the cooperation with the local schools Gymnasium Kamen , Gesamtschule Kamen , Fridtjof Nansen Realschule and Hauptschule Kamen . They enable the girls, for example, to have training units as part of morning lessons and flexible exam dates. The players live together in shared apartments and coordinate their daily routine professionally and largely independently with sports and school. After school lessons, a well-filled weekly schedule determines the afternoons. In addition to individual technical, tactical and athletic training, there are additional units on the program with juniors and in a team. From Kaiserau to the national team Bundesliga, national team, U20 world championship title, Olympic gold: Lina Magull has achieved a lot at a young age. It all started in Dortmund's amateur clubs and in the girls' boarding school of the FLVW. The "Elite School of Football" offers the young top players the opportunity to optimally coordinate school and football and thus continuously improve. Most recently, goalkeeper Carina Schlueter (FC Bayern Munich), Sjoeke Nüsken (1. FFC Frankfurt) and Sophia Kleinherne (1. FFC Frankfurt) made their way from the FLVW girls' boarding school to the Bundesliga and the senior national team. The FLVW boarding school for girls is funded thanks to the friendly support of the German Football Association (DFB), the Sportstiftung NRW, the Westfalen Sport-Stiftung and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. |
