Surrounding area
Bad Harzburg is situated at the northern foot of the Harz mountain range on the edge of the Harz National Park. To the east of the borough is the boundary between the states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, the former Inner German Border. The small Radau river, a tributary to the Oker, has its source in the Harz mountains and flows through the town. Nearby are the towns of Goslar to the west, Vienenburg to the north, Braunlage to the south and Ilsenburg and Osterwieck in the east.
Facilities
In the building Haupthaus, the classes for middle school students takes place. The class rooms have modern white boards. The science rooms were renovated in 2019. We also have two computer rooms.
Activity
On the one hand, the boarding school students can and should take part in the AG offer of the all-day school. There are also choirs, theater groups, youth research and much more. The older boarding school students can use the fitness room after a briefing by a sports teacher. The boarding school has a total of four common rooms where you can watch TV and play. Board games are available, but you can of course bring your own. In addition, the city of Bad Harzburg offers a lively club life, there are many sports opportunities but also a cultural offer from churches and culture clubs. The district music school, for example, gives its lessons on our premises, so that often no long distances are necessary to continue practicing the instrument learned at home. A regularly tuned piano is available in each of the boarding schools (boys and girls)
