The Goethe-Institut is the official cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany since 1951 and has a network of 136 Goethe-Instituts and 11 liaison offices in 93 countries, 750 cooperative partners around the world and 13 Goethe-Instituts in Germany at the moment. There are 185.000 language students per year learning German at one of the Goethe-Instituts worldwide. Each year approximately 32,000 course participants from all over the world appreciate the high-quality, systematic and wide-ranging program of German courses at 13 locations in Germany. The exciting cultural and leisure program guarantee a smooth start and rapid integration into daily life in Germany. Clients may also choose whether to stay in a private accommodation or in the guesthouses.The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide. The institute promotes the study of German abroad and encourages international cultural exchange. They also foster knowledge about Germany by providing information on its culture, society and politics. With the network of Goethe-Instituts, Goethe Centres, cultural societies, reading rooms and exam and language learning centres they have played a central role in the cultural and educational policies of Germany for over 60 years.
