Host Family -Host family accommodation offers the opportunity to practise German in a friendly setting. -Staying with a German host family also means discovering a new culture, sharing the daily life of the hosts. -A large network of host families, selected according to strict quality criteria.
Self-catering homestay (WG) (from 18 years) -This accommodation option, also known as “Wohngemeinshaft” or WG in German, is very popular in Germany. It is suitable for more independent students who wish to stay with German people in the centre of Berlin.

Nestpick is a website which provides a large amount of choices to pick from. Students are able to get into contact with the owner in a fast and easy manner. Most apartments are verified by the website, so it is less likely to be unsatisfying. Not only that, but once verified, Nestpick charges no service fee. Ordinarily, the service fee consists of 25% of the first month. However, this service provides many options which charges none of that.
You are able to see accomodations, when your move-in date is possible, and location with the nearest subway stations.
Uniplaces offers most of what nestpick offers, It serves as a great alternative if nestpick does not have the apartment of your choice. Uniplaces also provides features, and detailed pricing options. Uniplaces also features a speedy and reliable customer support section. Compared to nestpick, there may be instances where they charge a higher service fee. However, it may be worth for the quality of apartments they offer. The service fee varies, however, most goes up to 180 Euro.
EasyLiving is a website which is unique for students only. However, their prices are on the lower side, and feature specs which are perfect for students. These apartments are all-furnished, close in distance to many German language schools, and even offers household items for an additional 26 euro per month, These household items include: Television, radio, alarm clock, coffee machine, tableware, knife set, and etc.
The single rooms even offers a kitchen and a bathroom for those who are wary of sharing these facilities.
If there is no other option, and you cannot possibly find an apartment from the above services, than craigslist may contain the answer. Craigslist still offers many options, and you do not have to go through a third party to book your apartment. Going directly to the apartment owner may be a good thing as well, if you wish to deal directly.
Surrounding Area
In the Schöneberg district, the language school offers students a unique opportunity to attend German classes in one of the most beautiful areas of the city. 어학원의 수업은 월-수, 목-금으로 나뉘어 각각 다른 선생님이 진행하십니다. 그래서 수업의 양과 질도 각 선생님들의 역량에 달려있습니다. 제가 수업을 받았던 대부분의 선생님들은 단어의 뜻과 동시에 쓰임도 알려주시고, 질문을 하면 상세히 대답해주셔서 그 부분이 좋았습니다. 또 모든 것을 독일어로 설명해주시기 때문에 다양한 표현 방법이나 구어체 표현도 함께 익힐 수 있었습니다. 수업은 문법, 듣기, 읽기, 말하기, 쓰기 영역을 모두 골고루 다루며, Intensivkurs를 수강하시는 경우 점심시간 이후로 말하기를 더 집중적으로 다루실 수 있습니다. 하지만 선생님의 수업 방식에 따라 Standardkurs에서 말하기 시간이 많이 주어지지 않을 수도 있으니 참고하시면 좋을 것 같습니다. 어학원을 통해 회화실력이 향상되기를 기대했는데, 수업시간 중간중간에 파트너와 이야기하는 시간을 많이 주셔서 그 때 열심히 참여하시면 회화실력이 조금씩 늘어가는 것이 보실 수 있을 것입니다. 어학원에는 매일매일 다른 'Kulturtermin'이라고 하는 액티비티가 매주 계획되어 있습니다. 계획표는 월요일마다 업데이트 되어 인포데스크 옆 게시판에 부착되어 있습니다. 원하는 사람만 신청하면 되는 방식이고 저는 다른 지역으로 여행가는 활동을 신청한 적이 있습니다. 가격도 저렴한 편이고 하루 안에 가서 선생님들께서 설명해주시는거라 큰 어려움이 없어서 좋았지만, 스케줄이 빡빡한 편이라 다소 피곤할 수도 있고, 밤늦게 역에 도착할 수도 있으니 이 점은 유의하시면 좋을 것 같습니다. 저는 셀프 어플라이와 어학원에서 연결해준 독일인 가정에서 홈스테이를 했습니다. 가장 만족도가 높은 이유는 제가 필요한 조건에 맞는 집을 찾아주시고, 좋은 호스트분들을 만났기 때문입니다. 그리고 함께 저녁식사를 했던것이 좋은 기억으로 남고 문화, 회화를 익히는 데 도움이 된 것 같습니다. 대체적으로 만족스러운 어학연수였습니다. 무엇보다도 숙소를 큰 어려움없이 구할 수 있었고, 수업도 본인이 매일 열심히 참여하고 노력한다면 어학실력에 큰 도움이 되는 것 같습니다. 매주 금요일에는 주간 시험이 있어 공부도 할 수 있고, 다양한 국적의 친구들이 있어 그들과 대화도 나누고 친구도 사귈 수 있었습니다. 단기, 장기 어학연수로 모두 추천합니다!
