DCU Language Services is the English Language Training Centre at Dublin City University. Established in 1992 as an offshoot from the School of Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies (SALIS), the Company operates as an independent department within the University.The Company was formed to provide language services to a broad range of clients and in addition to Language Training, also offers services in the areas of Translation, Interpreting and Language Assessment. DCU LS provides professional and friendly English language training to the adult market. A wide range of courses have been developed, from general fluency classes to professional development programmes and the highest level of international examination. The English language school at Dublin City University is committed to developing and engaging in a broad range of international partnerships around the world. Through strategic links with many worldwide universities and schools, DCU LS is putting in place a range of institutional links which support key international activities such as staff and student exchanges, the development of joint academic programmes and other collaborative initiatives.

Dublin City University is situated on an 85 acre campus three miles north of Dublin city centre and just a 15-minute drive from Dublin airport. With the city just a 10-minute bus-drive away, students of DCU have the best of both worlds; the social and cultural benefits of city life, but with the security and vibrancy of a modern university campus.Over 11,000 registered DCU students are spread across 80 programmes, divided almost equally between undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The focus is on improving ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Instructors will correct students' spoken and written errors. Each week, students will be given homework and at the end of the week they will have the opportunity to revise what they have learned.

Accommodation
Homestay is an excellent way to experience the Irish culture and quick improvement of English. Learn English at DCU approves homestay family based on the comfortable setting and welcoming family members. Homestay option is available all year round. Students will stay in single rooms; breakfast and dinner are given from Monday to Friday and all meals during weekends.
Campus Apartment is only available for Summer sessions. It is an opportunity to meet students from other parts of the world and share their culture. Students will live in a single en-suite bedroom and prepare meals on their own.
Surrounding Area
Ireland’s capital has great shopping and nightlife with a small but vibrant city center. It’s easy to navigate on foot and explore the numerous tourist attractions from museums to galleries, castles and historic sites. Irish culture including Irish dancing, pub nights, Holiday themed parties, Cultural outings, and Irish music are all in Dublin for students to enjoy!

Language center students will have a free access to Dublin City University's facilities including libraries, sporting centers, fitness center, computer lab, student lounges and much more.
Activity
Dublin City University arranges fun games and tournaments for many sports such as Soccer, tennis, bowling and basketball. Students can also make use of 25m swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Spa pool, fitness classes, spin studio, and 3 sports halls.

Getting to the school from the airport
DCU is serviced by the following buses, which stop outside the University at the Ballymun Road and Collins Avenue Extension entrances or near to the University, with stops on the Swords Road, Glasnevin Avenue and Collins Avenue West (all short walking distances to DCU).
