The Departments of Japanese and Advanced Studies in Japanese at College of Business and Communication (CBC) have been at the forefront of Japanese-language education in Kanagawa prefecture. We hold the distinction of sharing in the history of the only school in Kanagawa during the early days of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education in May 1989. CBC has sent many graduates to colleges, universities and graduate schools in Japan, and into the global business world, demonstrating a long tradition and experience in the education system. At CBC, students aim to master the Japanese language in practice, as a tool of real communication. To do so, first our experienced faculty hone the students' capability in grammar, vocabulary and composition, which form the basis of the Japanese language. In the next stage, students improve their power of expression in Japanese through exercises, such as speeches, discussions, presentations, projects, etc. In addition, they have the opportunity to experience the Japanese culture during organized tours, exchanges with primary and secondary schools, and interaction with people of the regional society in Kawasaki. As a result, CBC has sent a lot of excellent graduates who are familiar with Japan and now serve as bridges between Kawasaki and the world.
Focus of Study : In this department, CBC offers an elective subjects system to meet student's needs. Students can choose elective subjects such as "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N1 and N2" and "Examination for Japanese University admission for International Students (EJU)." In addition, courses may be available such as "Making Drama in Japanese" or "J-POP Lyrics," for example.
Benefit, Goal of this course : At the Department of Japanese, students learn from basic level to advanced level with a well-balanced curriculum in 4 skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading). After a year of learning Japanese, a student can be promoted to the Department of Advanced Studies in Japanese if desired.

The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU),Japan and the World, Science, Mathematics,Essay,English,Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Classroom Hour : One lesson unit is 50 minutes, and total lesson units per week will be 22 units. Compared with a Japanese-language school, CBC students can learn Japanese over longer hours. In one year, Japanese-Language Proficiency will be noticeably improved.

CITY VIEW MAISON is located on the 5th, 6th and 7th floors of MAIN HALL. The dormitory maintains a very high security level as the main entrance is an automatically lockable door, and security cameras have been installed on each floor and in the elevator. Moreover, all rooms are soundproof, and MAIL HALL is an earthquake-proof building and just a one-minute walk to the classroom. In addition, Leopalace 21 dormitory is available within a 20-minute commute.

Surrounding Area
College of Business and Communication (CBC) is located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture. Many people everyday are visiting Azalea underground shopping center and Lazona Plaza, which opened on the opposite side (west) of Kawasaki Station. Kawasaki is known as a city of music and as a movie town, and has extensive facilities like a concert hall, live house, and a cinema complex. Kawasaki frequently appears in the media as a popular destination, such as in films and on television. Last year, the Fujiko•F•Fujio Museum opened, and getting more and more popular with foreign tourists.

In September 2010, the new school building, MAIN HALL, opened! MAIN HALL has a library equipped with wireless LAN and a self-study room. CBC offers a rich learning environment. Digital media can be used in the classrooms! Each classroom has been equipped with Internet access and data projectors. Presentation on the PC, of course, allows for instant viewing of documents and materials fed from the server for audio and video educational content installed on campus. iPads for the instructor will be available from spring 2012, as well as lessons using digital material. Multi-purpose hall is available for various events. Multipurpose hall is used for events such as yukata dressing and entrance ceremony. In addition, a wedding ceremony demonstration by the Department of International Hotel Bridal Service is held in this multi-purpose hall. Library equipped with Computers and Wireless LAN Various books can be borrowed from the library. In addition, you can connect your mobile computer to the Internet using wireless LAN. Built-in desktop PCs can be used at anytime. Cosmopolitan Scene of School Students from more than 20 countries and Japanese students learn while staying true to their own goals. Students with diverse backgrounds get together, and a wide variety of international exchanges occur on a daily basis.

In 2012, we garnered the highest award in the Speech Contest by the Association of Japanese-Language Education in Japan for the second consecutive year, which follows consecutive wins also in 2008 and 2009. As is evident in the aforementioned results, we have taken a leading role, especially in teaching techniques that improve expression, such as in regards to language construction, pronunciation and proper placement of accents. Many graduates who honed their Japanese abilities at CBC play active roles in a variety of fields.
