Malta University Language SchoolAbout the
Malta University Language School is an extension of the University of Malta and is the only English language school located on its campus. MULS welcomes and teaches English to students of all nationalities. The method employed is effective because of its communicative basis and students are also guaranteed a memorable stay on the Maltese islands. MULS caters for students of all levels – beginners to advanced. The courses at the Malta University Language School, taught by fully qualified teachers all of whom are experienced native English speakers, cover a wide range of options to satisfy the varying needs of students. These include General English, Intensive English, One-to-one Lessons and Specialised Tuition such as Aviation, Business, Legal, Medical and Executive English. An exam preparation course is also offered four times a year. This prepares students for the IELTS exam as well as for the Proficiency Exam, an entry requirement at the University of Malta. Extra-curricular activities offered by Malta University Language School range from cultural visits to Valletta and Mdina, boat cruises around the Maltese islands, horse riding, parasailing and much more. The leisure coordinator is always on hand to help you join one of the activities and start socialising from day one. Throughout their studies, students can stay with a host family which is a great way to experience Maltese culture and customs. Alternatively, the University’s own 3-star Hotel Kappara is another option within walking distance of the campus, while the University Residence is a popular choice with its vast grounds and many facilities. All courses offered are validated by the University of Malta and students receive a Malta University Language School Certificate upon successful completion of their course. MULS isalso a recognised centre for LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce).

The University of Malta is the highest teaching institution in Malta. It is publicly funded and is open to all those who have the requisite qualifications. Over the past few years, the University has reviewed its structures in order to be in line with the Bologna process and the European Higher Education Area. Conscious of its public role, the University strives to create courses which are relevant and timely in response to the needs of the country. The supreme governing bodies of the University are the Council and the Senate.There are some 11,000 students including over 650 international students from 77 different countries, following full-time or part-time degree and diploma courses, many of them run on the modular or credit system. The University regularly hosts a large number of Erasmus and other exchange students. A basic Foundation Studies Course enables international high school students who have completed their secondary or high school education overseas but who do not have the necessary entry requirements, to qualify for admission to an undergraduate degree course at the University of Malta.

Benefit, goal of this course: The maximum number of students in a class is 12. All materials are included. The start of any course at Malta University Language School is marked by a Placement Test which every student takes in order to guarantee placement in the optimal level for the student’s needs. Upon completion of the course, the student can choose whether to sit for an End-of-Course Test and be awarded a Certificate of Achievement or simply opt for a Certificate of Attendance. Both kinds of certificates are marked by a University of Malta validation brand, guaranteeing that the course attended is endorsed and approved by the Senate of the University of Malta.
Class hours: This course is available all year round, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 12:30. Each week consists of 15 hours of lessons.

MULS shall refund the Applicant the balance remaining amount paid;
If the Student/Applicant duly notifies MULS at least 30 days before their due arrival date in Malta, but does not attach a copy of the visa refusal letter, no refund shall be paid. If the Student/ Applicant duly notifies MULS of the same less than 30 days before their due arrival date in Malta, the following shall apply:
(i In the event of cancellations made at least 14-29 days before the due check-in date:
• The Student/Applicant will receive a 75% refund on course/tuition fees and tuition service charges only, less an administration fee of €100 which is payable to MULS.
• Accommodation refunds will be as follows:
For bookings with host families the Student/Applicant will receive a 75% refund on accommodation fees less an administration fee of €100 which is payable to MULS
For bookings at Kappara Hotel, the Student/Applicant will receive a 75% refund on accommodation fees less an administration fee of €100 which is payable to MULS; and
For bookings at Campus Hub, refunds are at the discretion of Campus Hub upon presentation of a copy of the visa refusal letter, and will be decided on a case-by-case basis. In such event, Campus Hub will retain a €50 administration fee in every case;
(in) In the event of cancellations made at least 8-13 days before the due check-in date:
• The Student/Applicant will receive a 50% refund on course/tuition fees and tuition service charges only, less an administration fee of €100 which is payable to MULS.
• Accommodation refunds will be as follows:
For bookings with host families the Student/Applicant will receive a 75% refund on accommodation fees less an administration fee of €100 which is payable to MULS

Our Combined General & Business English Course is ideal for students who are eager to improve their English in a group setting and who would also like to increase their English fluency and accuracy within a professional setting. This course is recognised by Bildungsurlaub.
All students are asked to sit for an online placement test before they arrive. This ensures that they join a course appropriate for their level of English. General and Business English courses are held at different levels throughout the year.

Malta is a Southern European country consisting of an archipelago situated in the center of the Mediterranean, south of Sicily, east of Tunisia and north of Libya, with Gibraltar to the west and Alexandria to the east. Malta covers just over 316 km2 (122 sq mi) in land area, making it one of the world's smallest states. It is also one of the most densely populated countries worldwide. Malta is internationally renowned as a tourist destination, with numerous recreational areas and historical monuments, including nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, most prominently the Megalithic Temples which are some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world.
