I spent a year in Crown Linguistic institution, completing
English PLUS course. The reason I decided to study in New Zealand is that I
visited my friends in New Zealand, and I fell in love with this country. I was
struggling among the choices I have for linguistic institutions. I found that
that Crown Linguistic institution had many Asians so I chose to go to Crown
Linguistic Institution. English Plus course has class every day; from Monday to
Friday. Morning class has 3 hours of English study. Additionally, afternoon
class is optional. If a student thinks he or she has a weak part, he or she can
take the class that he or she needs. Or students can take an activity class. Since
there is no optional class on Friday, after the morning class, students hang
around the city or plan travelling etc. There were many foreigners in the
institute, but there were also many Koreans and Japanese, so it was easier for
me to make friends. First 3 months, I used to home-stay, I met such a great
family. The rest of the year, I lived in the residence with a Japanese friend. Because
I stayed with a foreigner friend, my English improved a lot. Especially the
Crown Linguistic Institution cares about pronunciation. Thus, it made me
improve on not only my English but confidence in English.
