Monol International Education Institute is located amid the lush hills of pine trees and in Baguio City, Philippines. Established in 2003, it has always been committed to providing quality education and service to students based on years of teaching experience. The term “Monol” is derived from the Korean phrase, “Moyeoseo-nolja”, which means, “gather together and have fun with English”. To live up to this meaning, the academy has always maintained a learning environment that balances the students’ needs inside and outside of classrooms and has strengthened its purpose to usher students towards success. It has established man-to-man and group classes to maximize venues for student participation and feedback from teachers, at the same time, created a productive and healthy environment for a more enriched living and learning experience. Monol believes in the strengthening of its academic system along with its Spartan principles to motivate its students in attaining fluency and be globally competitive. Monol ensures that its students are given opportunities to boost their confidence and overcome their limitations. Focus of Study : General ESL conducts regular examinations for the assessment of students' skills. The teachers conduct continuous supervision and checking of homework and workbooks.
Benefit, Goal of this course : This program enforces a Bridge Program to students who fail to reach the passing score on every level. Moreover, the professors evaluate students using a Percentage Grading System.
Curriculum : General ESL is composed of five (5) subjects under the two programs: Foundational ESL and Essential ESL. In addition, this course constitutes seven (7) hours of lectures and practice with four (4) hours and 30 minutes of optional classes in a day. *Man-to-man Class 1:1 has 3 hours of lessons including listening and reading. *Group Class 1:4 has 4 hours of lessons including speaking, writing and pronunciation. *Man-to-man Class 1:1 has 1 hour of discussion class(optional).

Student Dormitory Staying at a residence is a great way to meet other international students and explore the city while studying at our English school. Surrounding Area
Apart from being a center for education in the North, Baguio is also deemed as the “Summer Capital of the Philippines” because of its climate that is 8 degrees cooler than other places in the country. It is known for panoramic vistas of foggy hills and various tourist spots, which earned its reputation as the ultimate highland retreat of tourists during the summer season. There are various spots where students go: Quezon Hill-Tam-Awan, Tacay stationed at Chugum Street, near the city’s Public Market and Abanao Square.
Nearby school is Philippine Military Academy.
Facilities
Apart from recreational facilities, Monol also has a gym, which is open everyday of the week. Moreover, The Company Nurse gives assistance in scheduling appointments with medical and dental doctors aside from providing initial medication for students’ illnesses. Moreover, students can stay in the residence of MONOL International education institute while exploring and studying in Baguio city. The students can participate in either man-to-man or group classes, which makes them to gain the confidence and competitiveness. There are more facilities that are available for MONOL students: campus wherein about 140 people could go, lecture rooms, computer lab and free WiFi throughout the class rooms.
Activity
City Tour Upon their arrival in the Philippines, students get to tour the city with the assistance of teachers. They also get to visit the popular tourist attractions in the city. Here, students are acquainted with the city’s major roads and highways along with shopping centers and establishments for their miscellaneous needs. Recognition Day At the beginning of every term, students get to enjoy various activities that are both exciting and educational. Activities organized for this event have themed programs where both students and teachers are drawn together to interact and learn from each other.
Bowling Night Bowling night is scheduled every first and third Wednesday of a term from 18:30-21:00. Students can register at SRD every first and third Wednesdays from 13:00-17:00. A registration fee of 40 PHP is required as transportation fare.
Outreach Programs and Activities Monol provides venue for volunteerism to students through community-driven activities such as orphanage visits and outreach programs, as well as tree-planting.Not only do these activities strengthen relationships between teachers and students, these also serve as opportunities for students to continuously practice their English through interactions with Philippine locals.
