don Quijote Language School - MalagaAbout the
don Quijote was established in 1986 as a language travel agency representing Spanish language schools. The company's single-minded dedication to service and quality fueled its rapid growth and the school quickly earned a reputation for innovation, personalized service and excellence. In 1989, responding to the growing demand for high quality Spanish language courses, the school began welcoming students to the first don Quijote school, in Salamanca. Since ounding, it has grown to 7 company-owned locations in Spain and Latin America and a network of more than 30 partner schools, largely through the recommendation of more than 150,000 satisfied students. At don Quijote, the watchwords are Quality, Innovation and Partnership. While the staff of don Quijote continue to lead - in academics, in value and in innovation - they continually seek out new ways to take the quality of their courses and their service to their students to the next level.
We have just completely reformed the historical building that houses our don Quijote school in Malaga. All this improvement to make for a most enjoyable Spanish learning experience. Located on one of the main streets downtown allows you to take advantage of the always lively atmosphere. The beach is only five minutes away, and the Thyssen museum is also close. In this vibrant, charming neighborhood you will experience both the culture and relaxed lifestyle of the city.

Surroundings
Malaga is a city dying to be discovered. Walk through this old port town’s “open-air museum” in the center of the city to live its rich history expressed in ancient Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian archeological sites and architecture. Soak up the city’s culture touring its endless museums (including the Museo Picasso – a tribute to the incredible artist born in Malaga). Wander through an interesting mix of traditional Andalusian and contemporary-modern shops, restaurants and bars. Then make your way to the beach or into the hills surrounding the city for a burst of subtropical colors and flavors and to immerse yourself in the Spanish of the south. Of course Malaga is also known for being the capital of the Province of Malaga, brimming with the best beaches (try: Cala del Cañuelo and Maro to the east, El Bajondillo or Las Yucas to the west and Malagueta beach right in the city of Malaga); stunning small towns in the olive-tree-lined hills; and impressive natural parks (see: El Torcal de Antequera). Let the southern sun glitter down on your Spanish immersion experience as you discover a true gem in southern Spain.
We love that Malaga is an old port city that has been transformed into a cultural hub surrounded by gorgeous beaches and subtropical nature. It is a place where students can plunge into Andalusian traditions while trying out the area’s fresh seafood at laid-back beach chiringuitos (try the famous El Tintero a little outside the city to truly immerse yourself in Spanish culture) or at the bustling Atarazanas Market; where they can discover its stunning historical sites (like the impressive Alcazaba, Gibralfaro Castle, the Roman Theater, and Malaga’s Cathedral); or learn about some of the region’s art and culture at the city’s many museums. It is a city that is full and rich on its own, but which is also the perfect starting point for students to dive into Spanish, discover southern Spain in all its glory and begin a journey into Spanish they will never forget!
