COLEGIO MARAVILLAS is a premier Spanish language school with over 40 years’ experience on the Costa del Sol. We are accredited by the CERVANTES INSTITUTE and are an OFFICIAL EXAMINATION CENTER for the DELE and CCSE exams.
Our school is a founding member of AEEA (Andalusian Association of Spanish Language Schools) and is recognized by national and international organisms such as FEDELE (Spanish Federation of Associations of Schools of Spanish as a Foreign Language, ELITE (European Federation of National Associations of Native Language Instruction), the German Authorities for the BILDUNGSURLAUB, and the Swedish Government for the CSN Certificate (HOGSKOLENVERKET).
Our teachers are all extremely prepared, native instructors who frequently participate in didactic courses and ELE conferences given by the Cervantes Institute and other institutions. The vast majority of our teachers are also DELE Certified Examiners.

About courses (classroom courses):
The first day, before the first class, you will make a level test of Spanish.
Every session (hour) in the group courses lasts 55 minutes.
A private class lasts 60 minutes.
In case the number of participants in a class is less than 3 students, they will have 2 hours semi-private tuition and free AVE online course instead of 4 daily lessons in a group.
At the end of each unit, you will make an evaluation test.
At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate and a report.
There are no medical restrictions to participate in most of our activities.
Please, read carefully the description of the activity or consult any doubt with our secretary.
There is a monitor every 25 students in our courses for young learners under 18 years old that include it.
For reservations made less then 5 days before the start of the course please ask us for availability.

The school is provided with internal quality control procedures. Every student fills out an evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course.
The school will be closed on the following days: First week of January, 6th January, 28th February, 14th of April, 1st of May, 15th of August, 12th October, 1st November, 6th and 8th of December and from the 20th to the 31st of December.
No extra classes will be arranged to make up group lessons missed on public holidays and there is no refund of fees or credit given.

MARAVILLAS PROGRAMAS INTERNACIONALES S.L. inspects all the houses of the host families, has a catalogue with the number of rooms, their size and pieces of furniture available, as well as additional amenities they have.
It also has all the information concerned with the family structure, children, relatives and pets, apart from dietary and smoking habits.
MARAVILLAS PROGRAMAS INTERNACIONALES S.L. guarantees a smoke-free environment. Families and students should smoke outside (on the terrace, balcony or in garden)
The average distance of the families’ houses is 10 minutes away from the school.
Depending on the students’ needs, they will be assigned a family, according to the following criteria:
-Students attending courses for adults (+18) never share a family with students under 18 years old.
-Adults (+18) stay individually at a rate of one student / one family or they can share a room with another student older than 18 years.
-In the case of underage students, CM houses up to a maximum of four students, same gender, per family.
– The age range of courses for young people is 13 to 17 and this is the range that can share accommodation
-In the case of double rooms, students of different gender do not stay in the same one, with the exception of siblings.
-In our International Summer Courses, the school always houses students from different nationalities at the same house, so that the use of their mother tongues is avoided and Spanish language practice is encouraged, unless we are specifically asked to do otherwise.
-During his/her stay, the student may request one (1) change of accommodation with no additional cost if the assigned family does not meet the student’s expectations or if any problem occurs. From the second time, any change of accommodation will have an additional cost of 25€ in terms of transportation.
-Should the student suffer from any kind of allergy or illness, it must be notified to us at the time of booking.
CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be notified in writing to Maravillas Programas Internacionales no less than 28 days before the start of the course.
The deposit of 150 euros is non-refundable.
Cancellations received:
• 21 – 14 days before the start of the course: 90 % of the remaing fees will be refunded
• 14 – 7 days before the start of the course: 75 % of the remaing fees will be refunded
• less than 7 days: no refund
If the student wishes to withdraw after the start of the course, there will be no refund of fees. Any refund can only be made by the office or representative to whom the fees were originally paid.
Periods of absence for vacation or any other reason may not be made up with free extension of the course. Fees are not transferrable from one person to another.

Surrounding Area
Benalmadena is an attractive coastal town of the Costa del Sol (approx. 50.000 inhabitants) situated on a hill at the foot of the Mijas mountains range, only 18 kms. from Málaga city and 8 kms. from Málaga international airport, which is within 3 hours flying time from most european capitals.
Originally a sleepy Andalusian fishing village with beautiful white washed houses, Benalmadena has developed into a lively and animated town which retains its old charm and character.
The town is small enough to provide a peaceful and secure environment, while large enough to offer good shops, hotels and restaurants, a large park and a modern sports centre. Benalmadena offers a wide range of amenities for all ages, such as an amusement park, a water park, an outdoor cinema, a shopping centre, a casino, 18 hole golf greens and the popular Puerto Marina de Benalmadena, with 978 mooring slips, a sailing school, an aquarium and a diving school. It has become one of the favorite meeting places for young people for its dazzling nightlife.
The geographical situation of Benalmadena enables the students to organize cultural excursions to the most important cities of Andalucia and to Morocco, only a short one hour ferry trip away.
Situated between two seas and two continents, Andalucia is the largest of Spain\’s natural regions and the one with the highest population. The region is wide and richly varied, including the Sierra Morena, the Guadalquivir Valley and the Betica Ranges. The climate, as varied as its geographical features, is Mediterranean, with mild winters and dry summers.
The millenarian history of Andalusia has produced an inmense artistic legacy. The Alhambra in Granada, the Mosque in Cordoba or the Giralda and the historic quarter of Seville are Humanity\’s monumental landmarks. However in the vast majority of its cities and towns we can find representations of the finest moments of the Andalusian artistic life throughout time.
Malaga is the smallest of the Andalusian provinces with approx. 600.000 inhabitants. It has a privileged place at the mouth of the Guadalmedina river, on the Mediterranean coast.
Facilities
School facilities occupy a modern building with 20 large, sunny classrooms, all with audio-visual technology and air conditioning. There is also a library with a wide range of material available to students, a cinema for Spanish language movies, conferences and seminars, a cafeteria on the spacious, sunshade terrace, offices, common areas, etc. There is free WIFI access available to our students throughout the school. In 2016 and 2017, we added 7 new classrooms in two annexed buildings. Like our other classrooms, they are equipped with the latest audio-visual technology to learn Spanish in a modern and innovative way.
Next to the school are the offices of our sister company, Maravillas Travel, where students can book extra cultural visits and routes, weekend trips, flights, hotels, rental cars or other services.
Our offices are open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00.
Activity
School offers a full and varied program of cultural visits, sports, social outings and excursions throughout the year. Details vary from week to week and from season to season.
There is no minimum level required to participate in the activities. Every week we offer a wide range of activities, most of them free of charge: Spanish movies, conferences on Spanish arts, history or literature, local visits to museums, Flamenco (Sevillanas) dance lessons, evening outings to tapas bars, restaurants, cinemas, Sangria parties etc.
Once a week we offer “tutor lessons” where the students can have a 30-minute sessions with a teacher to further discuss grammatical structure, vocabulary or other subjects.
Additional sports activities are also offered. These include: horseback riding, golf, sailing, windsurfing, outdoor tennis, badminton, volleyball and beach volleyball.
Our staff are always available to offer advice and help with arranging any activity which are of special interest to individual students.
For us it is essential that you get to know the Spanish lifestyle, the culture, the people, the tasty cuisine. This is an important part of your stay, since it enriches your experience and helps you improving the knowledge of the Spanish language.
