South Chelsea College and School of English offers high-quality, affordable English Classes in a lively and trendy South London setting. We welcome both part-time and full-time students and our central location enables teachers to introduce students to many of the attractions of London within the course of their studies. In addition to classes during the academic year, the English Language Department runs an exciting summer programme, where language practice is combined with language learning activities around London. Students who require a visa to study in the UK must attend classes for a minimum of 15 hours a week and to study this subject they must apply from a country where English is not the designated first language. English classes are available at all levels from Intermediate to Advanced and Proficiency. The emphasis is on encouraging students to speak fluently as well as enabling them to achieve good levels of comprehension, writing and grammar. Courses are devised on a modular basis so that part-time students can choose to study the particular language skills that they require, whereas full-time students (studying 15 hours per week) build up a comprehensive package covering all areas of language development. This flexibility is particularly valuable for students who already have some grasp of the English Language, but need help with specific skills, for example, pronunciation. Students may choose the length of their course from 1 month to 1 Academic Year with shorter summer programmes available in June, July and August.

Accommodation
Accommodation in another country can be a difficult and frustrating experience, but with some planning and expert advice, the task of finding somewhere to live can be made a lot easier. You may need reference to rent accommodation, including bank details, a letter from your college or university confirming that you are studying with them etc. Before you start looking for houses or rooms it's a good idea to identify which areas you need to be looking in. The college or university that you are going to study in should be able to give you a list of areas that are close to where you are going to study. They may even have lists of landlords that deal especially with foreign students. This is often the best way to get accommodation, as overseas students very often get the nicest houses.
