The school was started in 2006 and attracts students from all over the world. As an affiliate of the International House World Organisation, our teachers are acknowledged to be extremely highly qualified. We are an authorised Cambridge exam centre, so you can sit your exams here, too. Our IELTS classes are popular with students who wish to study at British universities because they receive intensive preparation for IELTS examinations. Our IELTS teachers have years of experience teaching in British universities. Students are aged between 18-60, many preparing for entry to university, especially Robert Gordon and Aberdeen universities. You’ll be in a small class (on average 10 students) so you learn English faster. You get to know people quickly, and make lots of friends which makings studying more fun. You’ll also get to know the British culture – we’ll make sure you see lots and lots of beautiful Scotland. We’ll help you with everything, including accommodation and getting a visa. Students come from all over the world – in a typical class of 10 students, you might find they come from 10 different countries. So you will go away with friends and useful contacts from across the globe.
Focus of Study : We encourage you to use our wide range of digital resources to help you improve your language skills. We believe it’s vitally important to practise pronunciation and get used to as many different accents as possible. With our teachers that’s easy – they come from all over the English-speaking world. You’ll definitely be more fluent and communicate more naturally by the time you finish your course.

This course offers 15 hours per week (Monday - Friday) from 2 weeks to 48 weeks. This Program is offered at 6 levels of instruction; A1Elementary is the most elementary level while C2Level Advanced is the most advanced. Upon their arrival at ih, are required to take a placement test to help determine the level best-suited to their ability. At the end of the session, students are evaluated for advancement to the next level based upon their academic improvement. This program assists students at any ability level in developing English language skills, general communication skills, and building confidence when speaking. Instruction focuses on grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening. Each week, academic objectives are planned in advance and discussed with the students. Students are tested on their first day to ensure that they are in the right class level to maximise their learning potential and Students who successfully complete this course receive a certificate from International House Aberdeen.

Homestay We can offer full time students the chance to live with a local family. It's a great way for you to improve your English and get to know the Scottish way of life. We offer the complete ‘home from home' experience - dinner, bed & breakfast or self-catering/ bed & breakfast with a local family. We have selected all our local families personally to make sure that you will feel safe, welcome and happy in Aberdeen. All families are different. Some are families with children, some are couples or single people. We will always try to match the best family to the students' needs. The rooms share bathrooms, kitchens and a lounge. The residence is tucked away off King Street and is just 15 minutes into the town centre by bus. Price is £89/week includes Internet & bills (minimum stay 5 weeks, subject to availability, available year round)
