ELC provide a range of specially designed courses in English for International students from intensive short courses to all year round study. We also provide a free comprehensive programme of English support for current international undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research students and staff at the University. Curriculum : -You will be able to use the English you know to communicate better after you have developed your listening and speaking skills on the Activate English course -You will be able to write and speak English more clearly after you have studied English grammar and pronunciation -You will know more English words after extending your vocabulary knowledge and developing strategies for vocabulary learning -You will be able to read a range of different text types and to use information from texts to talk and write about topics of interest to you -You will become a more independent learner by improving your study skills -You will understand more about British lifestyle and culture -You will feel better prepared to take the IELTS test (if you choose this option).

Accommodation
Carnatic Student village Most of the accommodation is in private single occupancy bedrooms with either single or double beds. Residences are on or close to our main campus and its many facilities, which include a large sports centre, restaurants and bars.
University room rents cover your private study bedroom, utility bills, insurance for your belongings, broadband and use of communal areas.

Whilst studying at the ELC you will be based on the main University campus in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.Liverpool is a multicultural and student friendly city where you can enjoy a good standard of living at a lower cost. You will also find it an extremely convenient base from which to explore the UK.

This means that you can continue your current hobbies whilst studying here as well as starting new ones. Student Welfare and Support is a priority for the ELC and for the University as a whole. Studying at the ELC means that you benefit from daily drop in sessions with our Social and Welfare Officer, should you need information or advice. The University also has an excellent range of support services for students, including, the International Support Team, Counselling Service, and Disability Support Team.
